About First Growth Wine Cellars

My passion for wine started at an early age. Growing up, wine was a consistent centerpiece in my home. My father, who started his wine collection with several first growth wines from Bordeaux, actively bought, tasted and stored wines. This gave me the distinct pleasure and privilege of becoming a very young connoisseur, tasting the most excellent wines before I knew how incredible they really were. I started my own collection after a trip to Bordeaux, which happened to be during harvest time, and it was only natural that I would name my company First Growth Wine Cellars.

After doing a lot of research and taking the WSET certification class, I started investing in wine as an alternative to the stock market. I have two young children, and instead of a 529 state college fund or mutual fund, I set up a “wine fund” for my kids. I am pleased to say it has done far better than the stock market has in that time.

After I started collecting / investing in wine, I obviously needed a place to store the wine. I searched high and low to find a racking system which was beautiful and yet functional at the same time. Fortunately, I was introduced to Revel Custom Wine Cellars which had just patented an innovative racking system that I believe will revolutionize the wine cellar industry.

I was so impressed with this racking system and the founder’s insight to build a cellar from the perspective of a wine collector, that I built the first showroom in the New York metropolitan area. First Growth Wine Cellars is now the exclusive representative for Revel Custom Wine Cellars' racking system in the entire tri-state area.

In addition to building cellars, FGWC also offers consulting services to help the wine lovers stock and manage their cellar (both old and new), invest, and buy wines for special occasions. How unique would it be to buy a wonderful case of wine for a couple's wedding that will get better with age and likely grow in value as the years go by!
